    Default tpt + stropping

I've had a horrible time getting a wavy bladed Dovo to take an edge. 'Good help from a number of members, but still I don't get anything like my SS Dovo or Genco Fluid Steel. Today, on the Genco, the toe seemed a bit dull, while the center was okay, and the heel was way sharp. An extended session on the strop (canvase, then cowhide), and the edge was back in town. I can't understand how the difference could be so noticeable.
Anyone else experience marginal sharpness being corrected by stropping?

Thats no big surprise. Sometimes my razors can't even pass hht1-2 before stropping, but after easily hht3-4. Stropping is very important in aligning the edge properly and for final smoothing.

Leather & canvas is abrasive, albeit minimally. A microscope will show that. Because it is also flexible it is the ideal way to reach the edge & pull it into shape.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

    Default Thank You!

I've been working what for this newbie is a problem blade, where I have to rock or pivot the blade on the spine to get full stone contact. Trying different strokes improved the condition, but still underwhelming. I'm gonna try some strop time & see if it gives a similar result. Thank you all again. I appreciate your kind help.
