    Default Got my coticule!

    Hey guys

I'm so excited! I finally got my beautiful coticule from The Superior Shave this morning! I didn't really have time to give it a proper spin over lunch, but I plan on testing it out tonight!

    Nice!
I love my coti and it gives me a great edge. It's the only hone I ever use.

Do you know the layer it's from?

    And as alway. PICS PLEASE!!!

I don't have pics with me and I'm not sure of the exact layer. I was told by the people at The Superior Shave that after going through some testing, the stone was ranked as one of their best stone. BTW nice to see another canuck! I'm a MTL fan though go Habs Go! lol

Lol don't be fooled, just cuz I'm in Toronto doesn't mean I'm a leafs fan.

Habs all the way for me!

As for the coti it will take time to find what give you the best edge but for me I get the best out of mine by taping the spine and diluting a thick slurry until plain water. Rinse and then another 20 laps on the plain water and I get a scary sharp blade.

I've used coticules before and they certainly can leave a super smooth and sharp finish. It will be interesting to see how this one performs. I'm going to hone my TI 7/8 Le Canadien on it tonight. I've already set the bevel and it's cutting hair nicely all across the blade. I'm going to give it a bit more tonight and then add some tape to set the secondary bevel.
