DMT hones from D8C to D8EE and coticule
I got a La Verte belgian coticule for christmas, and I like it very much. It is very hard and a slower one. I have several cheap coarse to mid fine hones that I want to replace with a DMT D8C and D8EF. They will be great for both knife and razor sharpening.
The question is, how much do I benefit if I buy a D8EE too? Would it significantly shorten the full sharpening time, or it isn't worth it? (I have a slurry stone for the coti too)
If someone is into knife sharpening too, is the D8EE worth for kitchen knives too, or it doesn't give much improvement to the edge over the EF? I would strop with diamond pastes from 3micron to 0,25 micron after the stones.
After what I have read, it seems like I don't need the D8EE, but you never know :) I wanted to share my struggle, I thought it would be better to ask someone who already tried this combo.
Thanks very much in advance, any opinions are very much appreciated.
