    Default First attempt at honing

I received a small barber's hone yesterday that I had purchased on ebay. It is a SR. Droescher Swaty three line hone in great condition.

I was anticipating this to be a bit larger but it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I wanted to touch up my Dovo a bit and did about 10 strokes, it will be interesting to see the difference this makes when I shave tonight as the edge was starting to "dull" a bit after nearly 4 months of regular use.

Has anyone used this barber hone before? Any recommendations as to how I can get the best results? I just used a bit of water but the instructions say I can use it dry or with water, oil, or lather.

You can try a dab of shaving soap applied to the surface too. A few simple x pattern strokes is all it takes.

Refreshing an edge is wicked easy.

Used the refreshed edge last night, turned out awesome like the day I received it honed by Lynn (maybe not that good).

Very simple to do and got the hone for only 20 bucks so well worth it.
