Thread: I dropped my 'Shapton on tempered glass' stone on my kitchen tiles!

I am not happy!

I was honing a new razor i received today, i just finished setting the bevel with my 1k shapton glass stone, went to put it aside and..... CRACK! i dropped it on the kitchen tiles!

I attempted to save it with my foot but that just ended up hurting my foot and kicking the stone a little further.

At first i didn't think there was any damage and there was a sigh of relief, then i noticed a small chip on the edge so i got out my diamond stone and rounded the edge... This would be when i noticed the slurry running in to a crack, forming a black line through the stone where it cracked..

GRRR!

Is it time to give up yet? I ordered my new stone so i guess not but man am i mad at my self! If anyone else had of dropped my stone i probably wouldn't have cared as much but i feel like an idiot doing it myself!

Ah well, it will still be ok for my kitchen knives...
