I would say absolutely! Anything above 8K is more technique than grit related. The final stropping is what really tweaks the edge to shave ready. I doubt most advanced users could tell the difference between the 10 or 12k stones if they were blind folded. :tu
I can! But then again I have a special face to go along with my special eyes! Lol
say 10k is enough, i have heard some say 12k is to much. i have both both seem to work well.

Since my cat broke my Naniwa 12k (don't ask!), I have been using my Naniwa 10k with superb results; use either and you will be happy :)

I'd like to point out that those naniwas are not the same. The naniwa 12k is from their superstone series, while the 10k is from their chosera series. The 10k costs around 3-4 times as much as the 12k. They really are quite different animals.

Yes, you can finish on a barber hone. There are a lot of people who don't use anything else, but there are better finishers out there. Whether you need it or not, is another question. Didn't wan't to be rude, I just couldn't miss that :)Quote:
