Natural stone ID
I was at a local antique mall today and saw this stone, I paid $12 for it and it looks like S!*%, like a dang bear got ahold of it. But it is a natural stone I am almost certain by the veins you can see in the side photo and it is very fine where the chips are and you can see bare stone. Please someone tell me I scored a sweet finishing stone on the cheap. here's the pics. Let me know if I need to take more.

Yeah that is what I thought it was when I bought it. The guy said it was from the 1800's, how he know that is beyond me, just figure they would say anything to make a sale

Might take a good bit of lapping, but for $12, sounds like a good deal. What are the dimensions of it?

I wish i could find a coticule for 12 bucks... least one bigger than a cubic inch. lol
