Default Any uk honers willing to help?

Hey guys I was hoping that someone on here might be able to help me out a little bit, I thought I was doing a good job keeping an edge on my razors with a bbw, c12k and strop. this was until I recently paid to have a really blunt razor professionally honed.

Now I realise that I am not getting an edge no where near that of a professionally honed blade and was hoping that someone could help me out, I'd be really interested if there is someone in the uk, south Wales / Cardiff area that could give me some direction and if possible, maybe for the cost of some beer money sit me down and tell me where I am going wrong?

I've been reading a lot on honing and practicing my techniques but for the life of me since I had this blade back I'm a little dissapointed that I seem to be no where near the ability to keep a blade sharp, i know that honing is a skill learnt over time and there is no quick solution but some general points on what I maybe doing wrong would really help me out,

    Thanks guys.

    Kris

obviously i'm a bit far away for a beer, and i'm no professional...but just a question that whatever pro you meet with might ask...

do you mean that you thought you were getting good edges until you got one honed by a pro...now you realize your edges were lacking? or you can't get the edge that was honed by a pro back up to the level you used to be able to?

    just curious...
    good luck!

Hi Ryan yes I thought I was getting a good edge but comparing the edges I maintain to that of a pro sharpened blade has made me realise my ability to hone needs a lot of work and help.
