Default Honing in the DFW area?

    Hi guys,

New to the forum and straight shaving and stumbled upon this when I was looking up how to sharpen/hone my blade.

I've been DE shaving for about a year now, and finally decided to make the switch over to a straight blade. My wife got me a very nice blade and strop off of amazon that was "shave ready". Being fairly new, I used it the first day and it did indeed shave. So well that I got some serious nicks on me. As the days have progressed though, the shaves are becoming less and less as easy as that first shave. I read through the forums and found that my stropping technique was wrong and that I may have dulled the blade significantly.

That said, I've read that there are members here that can hone my blade and get it back in order for me. Is there anyone near the Denton, Frisco area that would be willing to give me a good hone and sharpen things up for me and give me a few tips? I can meet or travel to you I'm willing to toss in 10-20 bucks to make it worth your while. I'd really appreciate anyone that could help me out as I REALLY love this method of shaving.

    Thank you in advance.

Razor is practically new. Less than two weeks old. I'm pretty sure I dulled it stropping. Let me know.when you're up this way and we can meet

Ok, here we go. Nothing too special, it's basically a "starter razor" till I get used to it. Once I get used to it and decide I want to stick with it, then the wife says we can look at purchasing a more high end razor. I'm pretty sure this is the wicked edge special that's on Amazon from time to time.
