So I got a decent razor of the bay and I was waiting until I got my stones to hone it up (at this point I was using two that I purchased that were already pro honed). So razor has been waiting for the hones...got the hones in a lapped them up nicely.
Honed it with a layer of tape and went at it with the 1k Norton..then on to the 4k..then the 8k..then on to the barber hone.
Stropped it up and shaved with it today.
I have to say that I am surprised that I got a good shave from it. I did not think my first go round with setting a bevel and then honing up would be successful..but to my surprise it came out pretty well.

I think I should invest in a better finishing stone but at this point i got a good shave from it..it was not pulling so that is a plus. Good be a bit smoother but have to say that it was a nice shave regardless...even did three passes which normally I don't do.

Just wanted to share...I figured if I was going to do this a honing session would have to be involved at some point just because of who i am I want to try and do it all myself and not have to send them out. Not that anything is wrong with sending it but i want that feeling of knowing I can do it.
Now I have a nice Wade and Butcher that is apart of my rotation. I have a pipe razor that will be next but still deciding if I am going to replace the scales on it first...but that will be another post.

Cheers to all and thanks for reading.
