Dropped a razor for the first time
I was just about to finish honing and shave with a Torrey razor when I dropped it. It fell on the cement floor in my basement.
I'm actually surprised there wasn't more damage. I'll be able to fix it but the edge is totally ruined. There are nicks along the whole edge and some are "bevel deep"
I put on three layers of tape and honed for a while on 220. I've still got a lot of honing left when I get home.
Heartbreaking

Yup! Done that. It sucks, but at least its yours and not a customer or friend's razor;)

Two words: Rubber mat.
I hear you...but my Hart square point cut right through that rubber mat, and the linoleum under.
The only cure is to NOT drop it....second to that simply celebrate that you did NOT try and catch it and got all your parts out of the way and let it fall;)
