Does one use the same honing techniques on a 3/4 hollow as one does for the full hollow ground blade?

I do - the only time I change is for wedges.
Then I use a narrower bit of tape under the full width one and only change the top one as it wears.
It's worked for me so far YMMV

The only difference I see is that the 3/4 is just "a little bit " more forgiving pressure when you reset the bevel.
One way to forgive pressure is to apply it as little as possible in the first place.
Yes, once again an example of a non-difference if you are honing properly in the first place. That sounds arrogant perhaps, but I really think that grind makes little difference in honing other than thicker grinds often require more time to reach the goal.Quote:
