    I should mention that, without prompting, my girfriend got me both a new Norton 4/8K and the 220/1000 combo hones for Christmas.

    Yeah, and just when I thought my wife fully understood my interests I get a small sample pack from AOS. As cool as it was I know she probably paid twice what it's worth and four times what it would cost elsewhere <g>.

    ahh OK. Thanks for the response. I thought I had been to every shaving site on the internet (STRAIGHT SHAVING that is... I am sure there are plenty of other "shaving" sites out there )

    I pretty much had a shaving Christmas. I guess I must have been running my mouth too much about it with family and friends, because they definately took care of me. I ended up getting all this:

    Norton 4/8K

    Hand American bench hone w/ 3 leather pads, 1 glass plate, tub of Boron Carbide, tub of Chromium Oxide, tub of adhesive for glass plate, 3 sheets of every wet-dry paper from 220 grit - 2000 grit.

    Tub of Trufit & Hill Trafalgar shaving cream and matching aftershave blam

    6/8 1/4hollow W&B from Joe Chandler

    Gift certificate for a Tony Miller strop

    I can not belive how I cleaned up.

    This is unbelievable! I mean the breadth / depth of the gifts - you must have driven them out of their minds...

    Not sure my family knows even half the stuff you got (and that's cool w/ me)...
