this is what I am starting to feel like doing. honing is not easy to learn!!!!:gaah:
Thats the most disturbing thing I ever witnessed. I'm still cringing after the fact.
They should put him in straight razor prison for that video
That vids been around awhile. I believe the guy that made it is a member of SRP.
I've used that technique for years. If the grit of the brick is too high, I'll start with a concrete block and do the bevel-setting with that. It is important to make sure the concrete block is wet (this is wet shaving after all), and it is difficult to find tubs big enough to immerse a concrete block. I just let it sit in the bathtub with the wife while she's in there. I've found that doing this allows the concrete block to absorb some of the Aloe Vera from her soap and makes for a smoother bevel. Then it's on to the brick for a final polish. Weathered bricks are finer in grit, so I spend a lot of time stealing them from older homes in the neighborhood. For final stropping I use my mother-in-law's leather couch, but I only do it when she's not home.
What the HELL????? I laughed so much when he pulled out the milk that I nearly spit my scotch! There is a special furnace in hell, for anyone that would seriously treat a razor like that.
I think he just BRICKED his razor ( iPhone joke )
~Paul
it's time's like this that I wish I had High Speed so I could see that video, I"m chained it's true to dial up and will be for the forseeable future.
Such is the shame, BUT useing bricks and blocks to hone,
a Str8 razors?? Now THAT'S funny, I don't care who you are, that's funny!!
My brick is natural, from Brickovenia. They don't make them anymore, the mine closed, and on Ebay they go for thousands when they show up, which is never. Lots of you think you have one, but the real ones aren't as red as yours. There are lots of fakes out there, tarted up with food coloring.
So funny
Michael
I lol'd. Especially when he poured the milk on!
That made me cringe. So painful.
NOOOOOOOOooooo not the brick again!
:gaah:
This brick honing is a load of crap! I tried it on a NOS Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple and it just ruined my razor. No chance of fixing it. What the heck is going on?
John
I bet, in lieu of a brick, one could use an exterior wall with a stucco effect. Think of the surface area available!
This... This is... This is just so painful to watch... I can't... I can't even...
I'm sorry....
I need a moment....
*Cuddles his razor*
It's okay, darling.. I won't put you to a brick... It's okay...
WHen this rediculous video came up I really hoped he would have cut himself...now I just feel sorry for him as he really made a fool of himself IMO.
I hope that was a gold dollar!
Wow, and to think i was going to buy a Norton, saves me a bit of cash. Lol
Seeing how you guys like this video so much, I'm going to start collecting bricks and selling them on eBay as hones... "The Brick Hone- The best and only hone you will ever need!" :P
