an admitted mistake ..
ok so my edges have improved greatly since i started , and lately ive stuck just to the coticule i picked up where im improved even more to the point where my shaves keep feeling better and better the more i play with it ...
BUT yesterday i must have been getting to big for my britches cause i skipped a step and now im back to the hones !!
i figured id admit to my not being observant ( just lazy ) and maybe help someone else out ..
so the last few razors i have honed have just been excellent for me , so last noght i honed a new one i got in the mail , passed all arm hair test , so i honned up to where it was popping hairs and off to shave i went .. nice comfortable smooth hair removal but on my jaw and under i was getting a bit of ruff sensation , i figured hhmmm maybe a few more strokes to touch it up ..... well long story short i was chatting with Chreees last night in the " Black rust removal thread and ended up getting a magifying glass out to read the tang and examined the edge while i was at it !!! the key to this is i was lazy and never inspected the edge and just went with the flow and didnt realize there was micro chipping in a few spots !! there for in certain plaves where i needed that part of the edge is where i had the bit of discomfort during my shave !! tiny enough where about 60-80 circles on a 1k and they were gone , but enough to feel at times ... so my lesson is .. dont rush and always inspect your edge instead of THINKING it is where it should be .. ( and dont get over confident )
BTW this is the second time ive done this but i wont let it happen again !! maybe my lack of knowledge but im happy to be able to notice little things now and be able to correct them !!
