Hello Gents,
Although it's an old post, I couldn't find any other online resource with this issue (direct me if there's more problems like that). I just got a vintage Iwasaki Kamisori that has a "not flat". Please refer to pictures. What would be the solution to fix it? It is quite sharp but I can't figure out how it was honed before

Can you post a better pic of the Omote? From your only pic it is hard to see the condition .
In general a simple x-stroke should work, but a better pic will help determine the correct course of action.
Sorry, I picked one up that has the same the spine feature and snapped some photos. Then I got sidetracked. I guess something happened on upload to require them be upside down for ease of view.. (I'm not honing on my ceiling. Not since last time) I took some photos to show finger placement required for attaching bevels like this.
