First attempt at honing = success

Hi all,

Performed my first hone today on a Chinese 12k from The Invisible Edge. Spent the past two days lapping it on 320 wet/dry so it's nice and flat. It's a flaming hard stone but almost all of the imperfections are out.

Did about 20-30 laps as a refresh and it's resulted in my closest shave ever by quite a way. Guess I didn't realise how much it needed it. Absolutely no irritation or burning. Totally perfect and I owe it all to this forum and it's wealth of information.

Glad you found success. It's pretty rewarding to have improved an edge, isn't it?

Wait til you take one all the way from a bevel set...that feels like total victory:)
