Dovo v.s. W&B taking an edge
Today I honed up two razors, Dovo Prima Klang and W&B wedge. Both hones and honing method were the same, save for heel heading half-moon stroke for the smiling wedge. I set bevel on select 8x3 Coticule with heavy slurry, then moved to BBW starting with milky slurry and thinning down to water and finishing on Coticule with water only. Number of strokes past bevel setting was kept the same. I know I am new to this and things surprise me all the time, still can't believe that steel difference can cause such a drastic difference in the bevel finish.
Both snaps are right off the hone, no stropping no CrOx.
Both razors shaved well and left much less irritation than a pro-sharpened Dovo Bismarck I keep as a benchmark (I guess I will downgrade it from being a benchmark to a point of comparison:)))
I am happy to say that shaving comfort of the Dovo that I honed is very comparable to when I just got it from SRD.
