Made this for my lady. Entire knife is made of trash. Blade is from a circular saw blade. Guard is a scrap piece of brass fished out of the trash in the machine shop at work. Handle is a hand-whittled tree branch. I made the slot in the guard using a drill and a cold chisel.
For the next one, I'm going to try using thicker stock so I can grind some contours in and not have it look like a slab of sheet metal. I'm also going to smooth the handle more so it doesn't look hand-whittled.
I'm trying to keep my use of modern power tools to a minimum; an electric drill and grinder, but that's it. There's no good reason for doing it that way, I just enjoy it.
