    Default Knife 2.0

Made this for my lady. Entire knife is made of trash. Blade is from a circular saw blade. Guard is a scrap piece of brass fished out of the trash in the machine shop at work. Handle is a hand-whittled tree branch. I made the slot in the guard using a drill and a cold chisel.

For the next one, I'm going to try using thicker stock so I can grind some contours in and not have it look like a slab of sheet metal. I'm also going to smooth the handle more so it doesn't look hand-whittled.

I'm trying to keep my use of modern power tools to a minimum; an electric drill and grinder, but that's it. There's no good reason for doing it that way, I just enjoy it.

When you give it to her I would not mention the word 'trash'. Recycled materials would be better.
I am hoping to be making my own knife in the near future.
    Nice job.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. If you can find brass in the trash then I'd love to fish around in your trash for a little while. I have to buy mine.

Looking good though. Looks like the handle is a little big. I like the blade shape a lot though!
