Ask and ye shall receive...
:)
I may have posted this somewhere here already, but just in case:
I made this for my nephew's birthday a while back. Head is mild steel with an O1 bit, handle is either ash or maple (can't remember!) charred and finished with linseed oil.

That is awesome Kris!!! :tu
Ya that's a great axe and a great gift Kris. Well done!
Scott I know you are still around even if this is from an old post.
Is the handle for the right ax shaped so that the blade hits square?
From this angle it would change hitting right or left handed.
Now that I brought that up the left one is leaning the other way slightly....
I've been watching this crazy guy from Canada who loves everything axes. My guess is he's from out East somewhere. He has a great message and great content so I figured I'd post it here and maybe some of you might enjoy it. His videos tend to be a little bit long, but he has some great tips, history and techniques of old axe heads.

What a personality, eh? His positiveness, and quirkiness makes the vids I think. Plus he's an arborist of some sort so, he's hard not to take advice from. I've watched a few of his vids now, and he's great IMO. He does ramble on every so often tho.
Plus, his work bench looks like mine, so I have a bit in common with him. :rofl2:
I feel post #132 should have started with, Axe and you shall receive...
Next week I'm going to go camping so I should be touching up the edge of my hand axe and ouling up the handle.
I'll try to post some pics.
He sure is quirky!
I like the part about aligning the handle.
