Yes true, but Ed's not too bad in reality. He can't help his bad luck. At least he was born on Celtic soil, even if he is a Saxon/Angle/Jute/Norman or some such other foreigner. ;)

Its true that Mick is a name given to Irish Lads, "mick" is a generic slang term for Irishmen.
I think I have said it before but my paternal line is Irish, but I have always lived in England, and have not bad anything to do with that half of my family, so I consider myself English.
