Thanked: 3New Member in Western Australia
Afternoon Ladies & Gents (well it is where I am!)
Just a quick note to introduce myself, currently living in Perth, W.A. originally from Glasgow. Recently retired from Her Majesty's Armed Forces (22 yrs) and have been making sharp stuff for around 7 years now, originally as a hobby but now looking at committing some proper time to it!
Hope to learn loads and maybe even impart some knowledge along the way.
I've been a lurker here for quite some time however its time for me to stick my head over the parapet....targets will fall when hit!

Thanked: 983Glad to hear it hollowground. I was born here, but my father and grandfather and so on, way back down the line, were all Welshmen, and I'm proud to of that myself. Welcome to Australia, and welcome to the forum. A pity you arrived only two years ago. There was once a great Knife-making club being run from WA that covered all the makers and collectors/customisers of edged ware Australia wide. Sadly the laws changed and the police wanted all the club members details. Rather than breach privacy of it's members, the founders shut up shop. They still run a mail order for supplies though.
I've made some sharp and shiny sh...stuff myself. A great hobby, in hiatus for me for now though.
Well if you have any questions, feel free to ask. We're all happy to help around here. Nothing like a gang of Cut-Throats to make you feel warm and welcome .

Welcome, are you in the hills? I am in midvale. There are a few perth folk here, and I know bongo was interested in starting something up in the area somewhere. I work away so am not around enough to commit to much, but it would be nice to get something going.
