    Aw well at least he didn't call us a "Welchman" and a "Scotchman", its a start I suppose & could make his tutelage in the "Way of the Celt" somewhat less painful..

    Yes true, but Ed's not too bad in reality. He can't help his bad luck. At least he was born on Celtic soil, even if he is a Saxon/Angle/Jute/Norman or some such other foreigner.

    I think its only the yanks that's say people are "scotch".

    Its true that Mick is a name given to Irish Lads, "mick" is a generic slang term for Irishmen.
    I think I have said it before but my paternal line is Irish, but I have always lived in England, and have not bad anything to do with that half of my family, so I consider myself English.
