    Default New from Orlando FL

Been lurking the forums for a while and decided to sign up. Shaved for around a month with a DE before making the change to the straight. Ordered a sight unseen from Larry. Got a Giesen & Forsthoff Adoration Ax. Haven't measured the size and the blade appears to be a near wedge, will have pictures soon, on shift until tomorrow morning. Looking forward to being a part of this great community.

I've had 3 so far. First time was a terrible shave with a slice. Second time horrible with a slice. Third time, best shave of my life, a nice slice on the cheek and 3 nicks under the lip .

Sounds like you are making progress, even though you had a little rough start, but that's common. Just keep at it and it'll get even better.

Sounds like you need to ease up. Learn 1 section at a time and then move to the next and so on. Easier and less nick involved.

Definitely just jumped right in to the whole face. 4th shave today not perfect but no nicks or cuts. Watching videos showed me that my 30degrees was way off.

    Congrats!

Nothing beats practice but it helps a lot to find a prep that works for you. Personally my shave improves exponentially with shower/hot towel, oil, and a nice lather. Barring that its just more of try, try again, and enjoy.
