Hello everybody!

I am joining this forum since I find it to be a good source of information as well as the good camaraderie.

I had my first shave today and that went surprisingly well. No nicks, cuts or razor burn. I feel like I can get the hang of it it sooner or later. I realized that the shaving cream I was using (canned) dries way too quickly. It was dry after finishing my right cheek. I tried getting it a bit more moist but that didn't work out too well. I have shaving soap but my recently bought silvertip hasn't arrived yet.

I aimed to do my whole face (I know that's not recommended) but since the shaving cream dried i didn't think it was a good idea to keep going with the straight, so I finished off with the cartridge. I had already been over all the areas with the straight but not as close as i'd like on some spots.

I think I managed to splash a bit of water on the pivot pin as I rinsed it off. I have read about people who always rinse their entire razor with water without any trouble so I hope I will be okay. I padded it with toilet paper and left it unfolded.

So that was a bit of jabbering about my first shave. English isn't my native language so my writing might be a bit sketchy, but I hope that's okay. I welcome criticism to my writing so I can improve. I'm looking forward to my time here at SRP as well as with my straight, I'm sure it'll be enjoyable. Have a good one!
