After DE shaving for about 6-7 months I decided to take the plunge into straights. Ordered a straight and accessories from Whipped Dog which arrived this week. First shave was ok and only nicked myself a couple times. This mornings shave went better and was much quicker and smoother. Still a little razor burn but much closer( almost BBS). Have to practice stropping a little more as I nicked my strop a couple times already( good thick I ordered two). I could see this becoming my normal routine.
Welcome to SRP from a fellow Albertan. Just remember, as long as your razor is truly shave ready, to use a light touch with very little pressure and that should help the razor burn issue.

Thanks for the welcome! It's been a fun experience so far but I have to try and refrain from going to crazy like I did with DE razors. Trying to keep my staight experience down to a few razors and a little maintanence gear. Going to try the KISS method this time. :)
