Another Albertain in the mix
After DE shaving for about 6-7 months I decided to take the plunge into straights. Ordered a straight and accessories from Whipped Dog which arrived this week. First shave was ok and only nicked myself a couple times. This mornings shave went better and was much quicker and smoother. Still a little razor burn but much closer( almost BBS). Have to practice stropping a little more as I nicked my strop a couple times already( good thick I ordered two). I could see this becoming my normal routine.

Thanked: 1263Welcome to SRP from a fellow Albertan. Just remember, as long as your razor is truly shave ready, to use a light touch with very little pressure and that should help the razor burn issue.

Welcome to SRP.
You've obviously been doing your homework and moving in the right direction.
Lots of great advise here and only one suggestion here.
Take it sloooooooooow.
Oh yeah and we are planning a "Meet" in February in Edmonton so you have lots of advance warning.
Where in this great province are you writing?

Thanks for the welcome! It's been a fun experience so far but I have to try and refrain from going to crazy like I did with DE razors. Trying to keep my staight experience down to a few razors and a little maintanence gear. Going to try the KISS method this time.
