After fighting the urge of registering on the forum and picking up a handful of old straights (not necessarily in that order), I'm excited to start another seemingly addictive hobby. I am a professional saxophonist with a spinoff hobby of hunting down/restoring/playing/collecting/swapping vintage saxophones. Seems this new hobby has a lot of similarities, particularly in the acquisition of numerous pieces. I've been shaving with a shavette for a couple of months now. Hoping to get these razors honed/restored to step into the real thing. Would also, eventually, like to learn to restore and hone from an experienced member. Obviously, the biggest challenge is my schedule of touring. In the meantime, have been checking out the videos and articles/posts on the forum. Other than the handful of "not shave ready" razors taunting me, I'm waiting to get a good idea of the right equipment (strops, brushes, honing/restoring equipment) that I might need at a slower, less compulsive rate. Also, better places to buy those items with relation to prices and deals.

Thanks in advance for all the help and info. I'll be soaking up from your forum...
