Thanked: 0G'Day from Australia
Hi There
i am a new member looking to get started with making straight razors. I have been making custom knives for some time purely as a hobby and but would like to now start on making my own razors.
have been reading posts on here which are great and would like to both learn and contribute to the forum.

Thanked: 0Yeah I've got a good little backyard set up. Still want to get my hands on a surface grinder when a cheap one becomes available.... You know what they say "he with the most tools wins".

G'day & welcome to the 'Place'.
I don't 'make' but if I wanted to I'd get my hands on as many razors as possible & take measurements. Also study scale design.
It's all a mousetrap that can't be made better except for those @#&*! asymmetric tangs. The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Not necessarily Bongo. My knife-making setup consists of a range of files, piles of sandpaper in an assortment of grades and a vice.
G'day and welcome DU(h). I don't know of any makers in Sydney, but we have a bloody good one here in Brisbane. Stu (stra8raz0r) makes some awfully pretty stuff. Talk to him for ideas. He's a top bloke and won't steer you wrong.
