I'm not sure who is local in Nottingham for testing shave equipment.

I did buy some stones from Gary Haywood last year. He's a nice chap and someone you should probably meet up with. I believe his honing system is Coticules, As I now have his Naniwa super stones

I would ask him If he can do you a few honing and stropping lessons, He runs a barbers shop so it's something that should be possible if it's on a quiet day.
    Real name, Blake

You're the second person to recommend getting in touch with Gary. I'll have to send him a pm

And JPshaver, did I buy a commodore x3 off of you from another forum?

All was going well until I discovered synthetics. I've moved all my badgers on (last one is up for sale elsewhere). It was a great brush though.

Got my Gotta 4/8 back from UKRob today so it's now ready for its first outing. Good timing really as I dropped my Kropp this morning and broke the scales so that's now on its way to be repaired

You would be in Gary Haywood's neck of the woods. His a very helpful bloke and well worth meeting up with if you get chance, he's in Sneinton.
Taught me loads about honing and have bought some nice gear from him in the past.
