I was pointed in this direction from another shaving forum and thought I would drop bye to say hello.

Started DE shaving around May 2014 to save money and to ease the irritation from cartridge razors, as my collection of DE razors / soaps/ creams/ brushes etc grew I realized saving money was an illusion but the shaves have proved worth the money spent. Instead of shaving being a chore, it actually became something I looked forward to. Inevitably therefore, I strayed into the path of straight razor purely out of curiosity, I mean, no way would I have the courage to use one of these... Not a change.... No way...

After a session on Ebay looking at straight razors, out of curiosity, I found myself the proud owner of a 6/8 Kropp, then after a little checking around the web, a Strop was winging its way to me. I sent the kropp out for honing and have shaved with it 3 times now, taking it easy for now with 2 passes of the sideburn/cheek area. Not confident enough to go any further just now as I am still concentrating on technique.
