Graduating to a straight - from Australia
Hi there!
I've very recently ordered my first straight razor after a period of about 6 months using a DE with great enjoyment. I ordered a restored razor from ShaveSmith, who seems to be fairly well reviewed around the traps. It's a 5/6 T. Noonan & Co spike. I don't do a full shave, but rather sculpt around the jawline and cheeks - from what I have read a spike (despite its perils) is useful for that purpose in that you have a definite edge to work with / look around.
I am very much looking forward to finding new and exciting ways to slice bits of my lip, nostril, ear and cheeks. I joined another shaving forum a few weeks ago but the tone here seems much more conversational so I found my way here. I have found a wealth of knowledge about starting off with a straight here.
I will no doubt be back seeking further instruction after my first few passes with the new razor.
Thanks!
Owen
