    Hi guys,

My name is Bryan, and I'm born and raised in Oklahoma. I'm 24 and recieved my first straight razor today from the man him self, Lynn Abrams, ordered it from Straight Razor Designs along with their Premium I strop. I actually didn't shave for a couple days in anticipation of the shave. When I got home today I did what you guys don't recommend and shaved my whole face. Took me a while but came out very smooth faced and with no cuts at all (pretty proud of that too!!). Anyways the razor I'm workin with is the Dovo Best Quality 5/8 hollow grind round tip. Loved it but it is definitely different to shave with a razor than a cartridge type. The feeling of it actually working is really cool. So that's my newb story.

Welcome and congratulations on you decision to use a SR., your choice in purchasing one from SRD and your success. Slow is good until you develop good muscle memory. Concentrate on stropping correctly and taking your time with your prep and lather, and you will have many more great shaves!

Welcome to SRP first of all! Second, I'm not far at all from you...I'm from the Hugo/Grant area. Third, I've learned a thing or two about straight razors...how could I be of service?

My wife actually has family in Hugo!

As as far as help goes I can't really figure out how to do my against the grain on my neck. Down is good up is good but going across to get the inside of those hollows just stumps me. Sometimes I can get part of it but there is no good positioning for either of my hands to get it. Although going across from my right side to my left side is better accomplished with my left hand (right hand dominant). Any thoughts?
