Hi there!
My name is Zach. I am 27 years old. Originally from Los Angeles, California but have spent the last few years in Arizona.
My current fascination with wet shaving (and straight razors specifically) began initially in 2003, when as a teenager I saw the second matrix film. 'Nuff said bout that. Fast forward past my eighteenth birthday (when Gilette sent me a free version of whatever iteration they were on at the time)…past age twenty one when I finally began growing manly facial hair…to this past fall when I wandered into an Art of Shaving store at the local mall.
On a quick side-note; TAOS carries high quality products but their prices are exorbitant, and their employees can be hit or miss but overall are helpful. But more than anything, TAOS makes straight razor shaving accessible. Whereas before a person would, most likely, have to buy a razor from an on-line retailer and then teach themselves via YouTube videos and such…they can now walk into a store at their local mall where they can actually handle a razor and speak to a person.
My thirst for everything straight razor quickly outgrew TAOS and that's where SRP comes in. This community and its collective knowledge reminds me of M4carbine.net and how much time I spent there when I was building my first AR. I've been spending almost every spare moment of my time browsing the sub-forums here. And I've also been spending way too much time & money building my eBay feedback. But no joke, I'm suffering from a serious case of RAD that's not even funny. I just love how straight razors have grown from tools into pieces of functional artwork that are just as if not more relevant than they were when introduced. But anyways...wow this post has dragged on...just wanted to introduce myself and say a quick thank you for how helpful you all have been thus far and say that I'm looking forward to my time here in the future. Thanks so much!
