Hello Dave,
It is a small world. I am fortunate to have Imperial Shave in my back yard so to speek.
Take care
Scott, just to keep from hurting your sons feelings, you might check & see if there is anything you can do with the one he bought you like other member mentioned but if nothing else put it on display with any others you get so that it appears to be good but keep him from buying you another of the same brand if you can & if not it's the thought that counts. If he does, just know he means well & that he loves his dad. Be proud of him.
It's scott01 that got the gift blade. My son might get me one "someday"...
I'll keep dreaming.
LOL...
Good idea about the display use.
Scott, wait some time after you have learned more & find out the good brands & you can hint to your son that if he wants to surprise you with another one, mention another certain but good brand to him. If he decides to take up using a straight razor as well & gets on here, he will eventually find out the one he got you was not a good brand but you can always tell him it was the thought that counts & that he didn't know.
Hi and welcome aboard. Any questions feel free to ask.
Thank you everyone for your advice and support. My son and I talked and are going to invest in a different style. He is a huge knife enthusiast and bought from a knife store. He understands that it will be tough to get and maintain a sharp quality edge on the particular razor.
I wouldnt write it off just yet. Once your comfortable with shaving I would revisit it. May not be so bad with some tweaking.
