Thanked: 2Hello from Ontario
Hi SRPers:
Many years ago, more than I like to say out loud, I started shaving with a Gillette DE. That was pretty much standard at the time.In my 20s I picked up a used Dovo straight from a barber and used it for quite a few years - it wasn't in great shape but it was cool. Not an easy traansition in pre-internet days, you had to figure it out on your own :-). Anyway, pressures of family, work, etc. made the straight too slow. For the last 35 years I've slogged along with whatever the latest plastic gizmo was. Until, a month ago, I got really annoyed with the price of multi-blade rigs. That led to a search on the internet, and a few days later to an Edwin Jagger DE89 and re-discovery of shaving as a pleasant start to the day. It only took 2 weeks from there to the nostalgia purchase of a Dovo Special. I'm really enjoying both; the straight when i have time, and the DE when I need to rush off to work.
This site has been extremely helpful this last month as I got back into the wet shaving world, and I'm sure it will continue to be.
Cheers.

Hi and welcome to SRP . When I start with straight razors I thinked the shaving was too long in term of time ... now with experience, is faster but too short :-).
So enjoy again with thus fantastic world.
