Good morning gentlemen! I've joined STP because as I was helping to move an elderly family member I came across a small lot (about 19 razors) of brand new straight razors. I'm trying to find the best way to find them an excellent home at a fair and appropriate price. I've joined a few Facebook groups, contacted some online vintage oficianados, and finally posted here to educate myself as best I can to sell these pieces.

Hello Amanda, while we can not do valuations we may be able to help with info on the razors themselves. About the easiest way to get value is search eBay for the razor you have, go to ended auctions and compare yours to the finished sales.

Welcome to SRP!! If you have any members of your family (Old enough to shave or newborns...) that may appreciate those Razors, gifts would be the way to go for sure. Razors are worth decent money when they are in great shape but it is most likely either Dinner or a Show type money vs Dinner & Show money. Making sure that family members are covered by considering gifting heirlooms like that is the first step.

Otherwise, +1 on researching eBay's Ended Auctions should give you a great idea of what current values are. Pay close attention to how the Titles of the auctions are listed as that is where the magic lies... Creating titles that assist a search vs hinder should be the goal.

Posting pictures and asking about visible damage or wear is the way to get more objective information on your razors. ejmolitor37 is right on the money in that we cannot discuss monetary valuations here... But, asking about Condition and Requirements for Restoration is fair game. New or not, there is almost zero chance those razors are properly Shave Ready... So, whoever buys them will either have some work to do or need to send them to someone for Honing and that is a $20-$25 reduction (... each...) in price off the bat.

I thought the rules had changed a bit and there was no wait to join the by, sell, trade? I thought as long as you paid your seller fee that was all it took. I could be wrong though.

Amanda I just looked at the classified rules, I did not see any waiting period, you must pay a $10 sellers fee. That's $10/year, there is a limit however on how many you can sell per month. So you will want to visit the b/s/t and read the rules before posting items. Best of luck, if you are in need of assistance I'll do what I can to lend a hand or I'm sure we can point you in the right direction.

All correct info given. And to post pics click on that little tree pic icon and follow directions. Its not to hard. Be sure to show any words or markings/stamps so we can see who it was made by. Good luck and welcome to SRP. You know, Females are welcome and can learn to use Straight Razors too. Its an old art form and when you get good at it you can get great shaves. Plus own some of the sharpest things on the planet! A dull razor is sharper than the sharpest knife in my opinion.
