    Default Hello from Brandon Florida

I have been DE shaving for a while, have open combs, closed combs, slant, adjustable, stainless and my dad's vintage razors. I have a collection of brushes and make my own shave soap and after shave. Said to myself I would never go straight but now have been bitten by the bug. i have not purchased a razor yet but am researching heavily, boy it's fun. just getting my ducks in a row and wanted to say hello to all.

Welcome. Sounds like you are doing it right. Research, check the library and ask questions. Check the B-S-T section. Good sellers and products.

    Aloha!

I have a pad in Florida as well as Hawaii so I am a part time Floridian, but a Hawaiian resident.

Welcome to the Straight Razor Rabbit Hole. I started Straight shaving before I touched a DE, so I did it in reverse, but it's all good. Once you master the blade, you will find it is an amazing way to shave.

Enjoy the journey. Remember that you are not going to master the razor in a few days. Have patience, study the videos on Youtube (especially the one by Lynn Abrams regarding using a straight Razor "Straight Razor Tutoral for Beginners") and enjoy the hunt for your first razor.

    Hello and welcome to SRP.
Sounds like your shaving journey is headed in the right direction. Taking the time and making the effort to straight razor shave will be well worth the effort. Once mastered, you'll never go back.
Enjoy your time here on the forum and have fun.

    Welcome to SRP!!!

A lot of great folks and info here, as said, check out the library you'll have a lot of questions answered there.
Watch Lynn's videos and also check out Geofatboy on YouTube. Between those two you'll learn a TON
We're always here to help, so ask questions. And as said, check out the Buy/Sell/Trade, at the top of the page is a link. Great Razors that are shave ready and in great shape there. Makes your initial investment lower.

    Enjoy and have fun!!!!
