Welcome Darek. Some great suggestions there. I second Connaught shaving, very competitive prices, even with shipping from the UK to Canada.

There are some very knowledgeable members from the UK on this forum. You might want to consider reaching out for a hands on tutorial, it will surely flatten the learning curve.

Welcome Darek. Glad to have you in the group. Take a quick glance at the rules of the forum. In our library is lots of info to help you on you way. Sounds like you have been given some great links so your on your way.

Shoot you can always wander down to Jermyn Street. Taylor's of Old Bond Street is somewhat famous for their gear (and will have new Dovo razors to sell). You'll pay for it though.

Vintage razors are at least the equal of new razors... there are several members who sell excellent ones on the "Buy/Sell/Trade" forum for reasonable prices. Bonus: They will come with a better edge than a factory razor (whether a factory razor has a shaveable edge is a source of contention...).

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. There is an overwhelming amount of information tucked away in the threads and fora of SRP. That sometimes makes it hard to locate the answer to a particular question. Fortunately, there is a lot of experience and expertise in the membership and nobody considers any question silly. If you ask, someone will quickly respond with advice or information.

One hint - we love pictures, so if you have a shaving related question that can be enhanced with a photograph, please include it.

Welcome Derek. Good tips already. Also make sure you have a good strop. That is probably the number one most essential tool to maintaining an edge. Make sure to spend some time watching some videos or try to link with some Londoners from SRP for one on one instruction. There are a few at least...or if you're in Florida look me up. :roflmao I jest but I would be happy to help.
