    Default New and Excited!

    Hi Everyone,
I have been wanting to get a straight razor and today found one cleaning out my grandparents house. I found a GEORGE WOLSTENHOLM AND SON with an old wooden handle. I am here to learn and to find out a little more about what my grandpa had.

Welcome to SRP. Cool to have one of your fore father's razors. Even cooler if you get to shave with it and hand it down. Here is the SRP beginner's guide here for getting the show on the road. If you want to know more about George Wostenholm check out forum member Manah's site here. Just follow the links.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Welcome to SRP Max. Wostenholm's are great razors. Be sure to read through the WIKI and ask questions as you go. Have your Grandpa's razor honed by someone that advertises in the classified section of this site and get started on a great journey!

    Good luck.

    Welcome to SRP!
I have not been fortunate enough to acquire any str8s from any of my relatives. I know they shaved with them but the razors have been lost or handed to someone else over the years. My grandson has mocked me shaving using the handles of a jump rope; he would act like he was stropping then take one and act like he was shaving. So I will work with him when he gets older and will hand some of mine down to him.

Good luck in your journey of str8 razor shaving and take pride that you now own a very fine razor.
