Well let me start out with, I know nothing about straight razors and I have never used a straight razor.

On that note I actually just bought an old ERN crown & sword off egay and my father has a couple old SR's passed down from his father that I've always just thought were cool.

I bought the crown and sword because it was cheap and I needed something to practice on without touching the SR's that have a ton of sentimental value. Then I read on here that they are apparently not junk?

I hope to learn the proper way to take care of and restore SR's(and to properly shave with one). I definitely want to learn how to do the pinning because I read it's an odd trade and I absolutely love the challenge of learning to do something with my hands.

About me - I'm 26 and mechanically inclined, slowly getting in to working with wood (I always said if I truly had a choice I would have been a carpenter). I also enjoy car audio (but i'm not the annoying boom boom kid), bacteria, anything outdoors (camping hiking kayaking or anything else you can suggest) and love knives and guns and bears oh my!
