    Default Tired of disposable razors

    Hello,

I am 31 and tired of ripping my face apart with gillete mach 7, or whatever is being made now. I have been shaving since I was 11 and have always hated it. Nothing has worked for me very well. My face doesn't like being shaved.
I have tried fancy electric razors as well. I was told it could take a month before my face gets used to being punished. No thanks. Time for something different.
I have read the various beginners faq's and posts here, and I think I know enough to get myself into trouble.
I am going to order the razor and strop here in the next few days, when I find a razor that fits in my budget and is what I am looking for.
I usually have a thick beard, but will be graduating from college at the end of the year and would like to be able to go to an interview clean shaven without having red bumps covering my face. Just using a brush and a good cream has helped. Hoping a good razor can help my delicate girly skin.
Thanks for all the advice this community has already given and I look forward to learning more and asking some stupid questions.

Welcome to SRP. Check out the beginner's guide here and make sure to read SRP founder Lynn Abrams suggestions for the first straight razor shave.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
