Hi everyone. I'm new to straight razoring (in fact, haven't tried doing it yet). Inherited my great grandfather's straight razor-he was a barber-while going through my now deceased Grandmother's items in Feb '09. Thought it might be interesting to give it a try. Started reading up on this a couple of weeks ago and am now in pursuit of a whetstone and strop. I can sharpen a blade, given enough info, but I think I may look up a sharpening service to get GGpa's straight razor shave ready--fortunately, it has no nicks and is hollow ground. Will probably post a pic before too long, as I'm willing to bet there are people here who dig antiques, etc--rest assured, it's no super valuable treasure, he was working class after all. Look forward to chatting/getherin info from everyone
