    Default Hi everyone

After switching to DE shaving I just bought my first two straights today. Looking forward to learning about the world of the straight on here. I'm going to admit, the thought of using a straight, although exciting, is quite intimidating. I'm sure after the first shave though I'll get past all that.

    Welcome!

As Obie says, check the SRP Wiki, Beginners Guide and the FAQ. These will really help you on your way. There are links in my sig line below.

Make sure you send the razors to be professionally honed to ensure you have a good edge and have a successful first shave.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Welcome to SRP. I too came over to straights from the DEs and it was a bit intimidating for the first few strokes but I quickly realized it was going to be alright. Here is SRP founder Lynn Abrams suggestions for the first straight razor shave. As Stubear said, make sure your razors are shave ready by a pro. Read my sig below to avoid nicks and cuts.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
