New to this cool forum

Hello to all,

I've been a razor fan for along time and I am just now getting around to the internet thing.
Glad to see a web site that I can share my loves and ideas with others.
Ive been a Machinist for many years and I would really like to start a razor business in the next year or so.

I would like some feedback. Is the market big enough to make some money? That is if you have a product worth selling.

Ive made a few razors in my years but mostly for family and friends as gifts.

I think it would be fun to do as a business after i retire.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

Welcome to SRP. Many members like custom made razors and wait long periods of time to get one. I think another craftsman would be welcome.

I know there's a market for this. Many folks here are already doing it. Id say start with some restore's or if your making new razor's .
And just start showing your work around.
And if your going to do this after you retire and have some funds to play with , it would make a real enjoyable small business for you.

Just my thoughts.

That sounds great.
I will be sure to get some pics of my work as soon as I can.

I'm not that computer literate but I guess you have to start some where.

Might need some help with picture posting and such.

What are some of the more desired materials in this business? Handles and blade materials and such??

Also what is the desired blade length and thickness. Sorry about all the questions , just trying to get some ideas.

Welcome to SRP...The members will be more than happy to show you how to post photos of your work at some point. All you need is a cell phone with a camera or an inexpensive point and shoot digital camera. Load the memory card into your printer or email the photo to your desktop and upload it, using the "Advanced" feature for forum posting.

As for your questions...I'll leave that to the "experts" here at SRP. You can take a look at my personal page here at SRP. That should give you some idea of what I prefer.
