    Default Hi from Downunder

Well very happy I manage to find such well loved forum about a subject that`s starting to pickup speed with me.

Totally unhappy with my electric and throw away types, wanting old school style and reliability.

Just a little about me, i work in a very isolated mining town in the Pilbara region north of Perth in Western Australia. As such any purchase on straight razors and equipment will be online. So any advice and help so I don’t make the wrong decision will be much appreciated.

    Hello everyone

    Default Hi from Downunder

    Hello, Mdhatter:

Welcome to Straight Razor Place. You have made a wise choice by switching to the straight razor. Remember, though, that you will face a learning curve. Take your time and be methodical about everything. Have patience and be persistent.

The Classified will provide good products. Also, for new products, you will not go wrong with the commercial vendors advertised here. When you buy a razor, make sure it is shave ready. Razors come sharpened at the factory. Many of us find the edge not sharp enough and have the blade sharpened professionally.

If you have any questions, please post and you will have your answer in no time. Good luck.

    Regards,

    Obie

Onya! You'll be hard pressed to find a better, more supportive bunch anywhere on the Internet.

I lived in the red centre for almost 5 years. Being remote does have its drawbacks at times like these. Fortunately, there are plenty of good, reputable vendors happy to work with you and from whom you can buy with confidence.

    Cheers, mate!
