Thanked: 0Not sure this is a good forum....
......for me....because... I was up until 4 in the morning going through the custom builts and restorations threads all night.
WOW....... are straight razors like crack cocaine for the collector types and perfectionists of the world?
I own one......repeat one straight razor.....by chance.
and now I am completely consumed with the straight razor culture.
Is this common?.......or am I just a freak?

I hear ya brutha
the whole thing started for me with a simple question: 'how DO they sharpen a straight razor?'
that was less than a month ago; i now have 3 hones, 3 razors (1 to use, 2 to practice on), 3 strops (hand made), creams, a brush and I've commandeered one of the good mugs from the kitchen. and no end in sight....
i used to think it was a good think not to have to shave but once or twice a week!
anyway, good to part of the club, good luck with that...

Welcome to SRP Red. If you think the razors are bad, wait until you discover the hones.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1185Yes, you are a freak if you only have one straight razor No worries, we've all been there and rest assured that is a situation you will undoubtedly address forthwith. The real answer to are you a freak really has a lot to do with context. To the rest of the world, most shave freaks come off as a bit unusual but amongst fellow shave freaks your behavior, even when carried to ridiculous extremes is acccepted as quite normal. For example consider this dialog:
Shave Freak #1: My straight razor collection is over 2000 razors, I have used a different razor every day since January 2004.
Shave Freak #2: Cool, you're the man! Got pics? The older I get, the better I was
