Gonna take the plunge!
Hi guys! I've been wet shaving with a double edge for about a year and have recently started looking at straight edge razors. I viewed Lynn Abrams' "World of Straight Razor Shaving" DVD - a truly awesome source of information. I finally decided to order a pre-honed 6/8 Dovo "Bismarck" along with a strop from Lynn's Straight Razor Designs. Hopefully, my piggy bank will recover a bit before I need to order a set of honing stones.
I'm excited but slightly nervous. I'm gonna take Lynn's suggestion and "have fun!"

Welcome to SRP, one option is to pick up some of the used shave ready or restored straights from on of the vendors here on SRP. Some times you can pick up a couple so you have a spare and one to keep as a base of shave ready until you get proficient at stropping etc. It can help delay that plunge into the honing equipment.
