Hi everyone. Just started shaving with a straight razor about four months ago. I bought a razor from ebay...ok so I bought 3.
The first one I thought (that's what I get for thinking) was a decent one. Looked nice, Soligen Germany(painted on) big mistake there. That thing is a real piece of junk. Won't take an edge, at least not one you would shave with.
The second one was super cheap. A Gold dollar. The cheap Gold dollar razor honed and stropped shaves really nice. Compared to the ragged tin can edge of the "made in Germany" razor, it was a dream.
I have a new strop on the way. Straight Razor Designs, first one was 30 bucks on ebay. The first one, I have nicked up learning how to use a strop.
And I just purchased a new Dovo Black Star.
I have heard of RAD (razor acquisition disease) I'm afraid I may have it.
